Alphacap, a startup incubator based in Malaysia, has launched its inaugural “Alpha Innolab Acceleration Programme” and the programme is now open for application.
Alphacap was established in late 2015 as an IT startup incubator, focusing on verticals such as big data, e-commerce, gaming, online to offline (O2O), internet of things (IoT), education, consumer internet and media.
Over the first 20 months of Alphacap’s operation, they have gathered under their belt 30 investee companies, and all of which have successfully closed their respective seed funding rounds, ranging from RM400K to RM1.5M. To date, Alphacap has a total of RM30M assets under management.
Alphacap was also recently handpicked by Alibaba Cloud as the official partner in Southeast Asia to work alongside the company in its effort to advance its startup initiative, as well as its cloud computing technology. This partnership is a monumental one as it opens door for startups in Southeast Asia to access the Chinese market and its investor base.
The “Alpha Innolab Acceleration Programme” is a 3-month programme specially designed for seed-stage startups. Among the key focus areas offered by the programme includes: business model, market pivoting, corporate finance, equity finance, corporate governance & organisation, CEO mindset, and pitching & presentation.
Startups selected to participate in this programme will also have access to Alphacap’s network of 500 angels, 150 venture capitalists, and 15 government-linked agencies, incubators and accelerators across 10 countries spanning 4 continents. Alphacap will also provide seed funding up to RM300K for each startup selected for the programme.
In addition, leveraging on Alphacap’s partnership with Alibaba Cloud, “Alpha Innolab Acceleration Programme” startups will have a competitive advantage in Create@Alibaba Cloud Startup Competition (CACSC) 2017 — Southeast Asia. Winners of CACSC Southeast Asia will join the rest of the regional winners to pitch in the finale in HangZhou, China. In 2016, three Alphacap startups were shortlisted for the regional competition and one (Havson, a virtual reality game company) emerged as the champion and was given the opportunity to showcase their business in China.
The application for “Alpha Innolab Acceleration Programme” will be closed on Monday, 15 May 2017. Startups interested to apply, please click here to sign up and send your pitch deck to firstname.lastname@example.org.
